The Second Durban Cat Club Show - Durban Jewish Club - 2 November 2014

The success of the first Durban Cat Club show, held on a Sunday, was followed by the second show, at the same venue.   The original date was moved from September to November.   It was a rainy day, strange for visitors to Durban.  Escom was up to the usual tricks, by leaving us in the dark for almost three hours during the event due to load shedding.   This did not dampen the enthusiasm, though and quite a few visitors included the cats show in their Sunday activities.

The DCC show was preceded by two other independent shows by the OSRBG and SACATS clubs.   This afforded the exhibitors the opportunity to gain three major awards and get full titles for their cats on one day.  

Hills declined the request for full sponsorship of the prizes and was only prepared to sponsor four Judges Best and one Overall Best prize for this show.   The Best on Show event according to WCF rules, as presented during the first show, therefor had to be downscaled to the conventional Independent style of one Judges Best prize for each judge.   The Rings and Specials had to be moved to the SACATS and OSRBG shows and the DCC committee provided prizes, as Hills also declined sponsorship of these.

Three CFSA & WCF-guest judges and one SACC judge, all from KZN, officiated at the show.

The show was a success and we hope to repeat this in future.
