Presently.
The Durban Cat Club is a well established group of cat enthusiasts in Kwazulu-Natal. The Natal Siamese and Oriental Group has been in existance since 1997 and was affiliated to the Southern Africa Cat Council until 2013, when it de-affiliated. During this time it staged one SACC show under the auspices of the Persian Cat Society, which changed its name to the Provincial Cat Society. After de-affiliation, the NSOG remained an independent entity until July 2014, when the committee voted unanimously to change the name to the Durban Cat Club. The first Independent show will be held on 20 July 2014. The aim of the group is to support breeders and cat lovers, promote the love and welfare of cats in various ways, including cat shows, exhibitions and charity events.
South Africa has several Independent Cat Clubs, although it is still a foreign concept to some. More information about the Independent Cat Clubs is available on the website of the OSRBG.

The past.
The previous footer of the NSOG correspondence says it all. The only two changes are the fact that it is no longer affiliated to SACC and that the name has changed to prevent any perception that only Siamese and Oriental breeds are supported and promoted.
The future.
Our first show was a success and following that, we are planning many activities invoving cats and cat lovers in the Durban area. Please visit our show pages for past and future events.
